MacDonald re-elected PC president

Cornwall Standard Freeholder? or Ottawa Sun? (I believe the former)

24 February 1993

Malcolm MacDonald has been re-elected president of the Stormont-Dundas Progressive Conservative Association.

Serving with him on the new executive will be Eric Cameron, first vice-president; Pat Cousineau, second vice-president; Robin Cameron, secretary and director; and Luc Guindon, treasurer.

Todd Lalonde, Linda Smithson and Elizabeth Locke are new directors. About 20 people attended the association’s annual meeting Tuesday night at the Parkway Inn. It will be MacDonald’s third term and second consecutive term as president.

MacDonald said two candidates both from Cornwall, have expressed interest in seeking nominations for the federal elections expected later this year.

“Our first priority is to establish solid foundation,” he said, adding once this is done they can concentrate on fundraising and deciding on a nomination convention.

MacDonald said it is not hard to raise money even during hard times since contributors get most of their contributions back from income tax.
