Belinda Stronach builds momentum in first week TORONTO, 
Jan. 25 /CNW/ - 
As Belinda Stronach wrapped up the first week ofher campaign 
to become the leader of the new Conservative Party of Canada, 
she had captured the interest and imagination of thousands across 
the country. Highlights of the past week include: - From the 
campaign launch until 4 p.m., Friday, January 23, the belinda.ca 
website received 9,770,705 hits. - In the same time period, there 
were 138,758 unique visitors and 686,582 page views. - Close to 
19,000 people searched for "Belinda Stronach" on Google on 
January 20 and 21. - More than 500 people packed into a 
Vancouver pub to meet Stronach on Wednesday, January 21. 
- 1354 people attended a breakfast speech by Stronach at the 
Calgary Chamber of Commerce on Friday, January 23, the 
largest breakfast the Chamber has ever had. - Stronach hosted 
the best-attended hospitality suite at the Ontario PC Party Policy 
Convention in Niagara Falls on Friday night. - More than 1000 
people have volunteered to join the Stronach team through the 
website or by calling. - A chair or co-chairs have been appointed 
in each province, and will lead volunteer teams of party activists.
 - A youth chair or co-chairs have been appointed in each province, 
and will lead volunteer teams of party youth activists. Over the 
course of the week, Stronach encouraged supporters to Join;Recruit; 
Vote. Join the new Conservative Party, Recruit new members and 
Vote in March. Stronach's vision is based on the hopes, dreams and 
aspirations ofindividual Canadians; she believes that party policy 
must be formed from thegrassroots up, not top-down by the leader; 
and she promises open and inclusivedialogue with Canadians about 
how to achieve our goals.
